AT058: Cross Lapis, boxed.
Date: c1990s
Size: Length - 5 7/8 inches capped;
6 3/8 inches posted.
This
beautiful Cross fountain pen has been used a few times,
but it remains in near pristine condition. It is presented here
in its original wooded box with all its original contents. Both
barrel and cap are made fom a metal base which has been lacquered with
the beautiful blue and gold Lapis Lazuli effect. The cap has the
classic
Cross shape with a gold palted tapered top piece, gold plated Cross
pocket clip, and two gold plated girdles around the cap lip. The
barrel, likewise,
has a tapered gold plated piece. The
nib is made from two-tone 18 carat gold, and has the swirly line
engraving. It is marked as a medium point.
The
barrel
unscrews to allow the filling of the pen. You can
either fill
from a bottle with the included original ink converter, or the pen may
also be used with Cross ink cartridges.
The wooden presentation box is also in excellent condition - no
damage here either. There is a board box that the wooden box fits
into for protection and the whole then fits into a white slip outer
box. The original guarantee and Lapis Lazuli booklet are also
included.
I
did just dip the tip of the nib to produce the writing sample below,.
The nib felt very smooth and it produced a good consistent
medium width line.
A beautiful quality pen with excellent balance and a
nice heft.
