CS406: Conway Stewart No. 58, boxed.
Date: c2000s
Size: Capped - 5 3/16 inches, posted
- 6 7/16 inches.
A beautiful marbled blue Conway Stewart
No. 58. This pen is complete with its original Conway Stewart
Diamond presentation box, and all documentation. It is part of a
consignment I am currently selling from a Conway Stewart collector who
wishes to refocus his collection. The pen is still in pristine
condition with absolutely no damage on it at all. It may have
been used a couple of times in its life, but you wouldn't be able to
tell. The No. 58 model was made as an homage to Conway
Stewart's famous No. 58 pen from the 1950s. It is almost the
exact shape and size as the original. The Model 58 is no longer
available from Conway Stewart so this may be your last opportunity for
a while to pick up such a fine example. The
cap has a conical end
"jewel" with a gold filled bezel that matches the cap and barrel
colouring, and a log straight pocket clip. The clip has the
"CS" logo at the top within a
diamond shaped cartouche and another diamond at the bottom.
Below, near the lip, are three cap bands - a slightly wider band
flanked by two narrow ones. The barrel imprint is very crisp
and includes, as with all modern Conway
Stewarts, the serial number of the pen. The glossy black
section holds the super Conway Stewart nib, which is 18 carat
gold, undamaged, and in a medium point. This is a
cartridge/converter pen and you unscrew the barrel to fit a standard
"international" style ink cartridge, or you can use the already fitted
original ink converter if you prefer.
