In 1972, S. T. Dupont launched
its first luxury ballpoint pen; a functional, technical but
also very personal object. Each S. T. Dupont writing
instrument is characterised by pure lines, rich materials and a
perfect, reassuring feel in the hand.
S. T. Dupont uses natural Chinese lacquer
hand gathered in Tonkin and then blended together like wine.
It has a sheen and depth that no synthetic varnish can
equal, it has a silky pearl-like feel , and is exceptionally
hard-wearing and highly resistant to knocks, scuffs and
scratches, as well as to heat. All S. T. Dupont Chinese
lacquer writing instruments are stamped with a logo
representing a stylised lacquer tree leaf, to authenticate and
highlight the exceptional character of this unique material.
As an alternative, contemporary lacquers
offer a selection of fresh and intense colours.
S. T. Dupont is also renowned for its
metalwork, offering guilloche work, chasing, engraving, hand
polishing and plating with precious metals. This
succession of manufacturing processes sublimate the brass base
with multiple intricate patterns and give it a final luxurious
glow.
