GZ005: Gazzaz "Chalana", boxed.
Date: c1980s
Size: Capped - 5 3/16 inches; posted
- 5 13/16 inches.
This i a new old-stock pen, made by Sailor Pen Company
in Japan for the Gazzaz company in Saudi Arabia. It is
basically a special edition "Chalana" pen. The Gazzaz comapny
is a very up-market perfumier and accessory retailer. The
Chalana pens are ultra-slim fountain pens that accept Sailor Chalana
ink cartidges or ink converters for filling froman ink bottle.
They are ideally suited for keeping with your diary, or
taking with you in a pocket or purse.
This pen has a beautiful burgundy and black matte finish
that has just a tiny but of texture to both cap and barrel.
The cap is topped with
a gold
plated finial that bears an enamel end depicting the Gazzaz logo.
The gold plated pocket clip is squared off in shape and has
"GAZZAZ" imrinted at the lower end. The barrel has a gold
plated end piece just to finish it off nicely. The black
section holds
the gold plated nib, which is in a fine point.
I have the boxes in either black or brown, so if you
have a preference please let me know and I will try to accommodate you.
They are had shell boxes covered with leatherette and brass
bound. Inside there is a flocked pad and a satin lining to
the lid.
I am supplying these pens complete with a couple of
Sailor Chalana ink cartridges to get you started. I have
quite a stash of these cartridges at present, and if you purchase this
pen you can have as many boxes as you would like for 50 pence each.
They come in boxes of five, and I have them in Royal Blue,
Black and Red, so if you need more cartridges please mention it when
ordering the pen.
The Sailor Chalana ink converters are also available at
£3.50 each. Again, please ask if you need one
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib
feels very smooth in use and writes with a very good wet and
consistent fine width line.
An unusual find, and a steal at the price.
