Caran d'Ache Madison Collection

The new Madison 2 ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil bring together main features of two famous Caran d’Ache collections: The slim elegance of the first Madison collection, launched in the 1970s, and the articulated clip of the Léman collection that has been a success since 1998.

However, an innovative mechanism has been developed specifically for the Madison 2: the method of advancing the cartridge or the lead. It only takes a gentle pressure to slide the entire cap of the pen forwards.

As with its predecessors, the body of the new instruments is made of solid brass. A wide choice of surface finishes means there is something to please every taste: a beautiful decoration of ‘Ciselé’ or ‘Clou de Paris’ engraving patterns, entirely plated in gold or silver with a rhodium finish. There are also two-colour models with a luminous blue lacquer and rhodium-coated silver, as well as versions with a shiny black lacquering and goldplating or silverplating with rhodium finish.

The spring-loaded, articulated clip provides great flexibility of use and guarantees longevity. The top of the cap of the Madison 2pen is gently bevelled and engraved with the ‘CdA’ monogram, while a ring carrying the name ‘Caran d’Ache’ circles the other end.

As with other ballpoint pens at the top of the Caran d’Ache range, the Madison 2comes with the legendary Goliathgiant cartridge that can write up to 600 A4 pages. The mechanical pencil carries leads of 0.7mm diameter. To change the cartridge, load new leads or use the built-in eraser, it is only necessary to unscrew the upper part of the instrument.
