PA1399: Parker Challenger Pencil.

Date: 1939

Size: Length - 4 7/8 inches.

This is a lovely green and black marbled Challenger pencil.  It is in very good condition, with the only damage that I can see being some slight plating wear to the cap band, and some stippling of the plating on the cone.  Neither is very noticeable and certainly does not detract from the beauty of this pencil.    The cap has a black conical-ended top button holding on the Parker gold filled and tapered pocket clip with the "Parker" inscription down the shaft.  There is also a wide gold filled cap band below.   Both cap and barrel are glossy with no splits, chips, or cracks and not even any noticeable surface scratches.  The barrel has a clear and deep imprint which includes a date code for 1939.   The cone is also gold filled.  This is a propel-repel pencil that works by twisting the cap.  The cap also pulls off and beneath is a mostly used eraser.  The lead storage area is beneath the eraser.  There are a couple of spare 1.1mm leads in the barrel, and I have installed a fresh 1.1mm lead into the mechanism so it is all ready to go.

I have fully serviced this pencil.  It works perfectly.
