PA1509: Parker Duofold Junior.
Date: c1954
Size: Capped - 5 3/8 inches; posted
- 6 1/4 inches.
A
super glossy burgundy red Duofold Junior in
excellent condition. I really can't see any damage on this
pen with the naked eye, and just a hint of some edge plating wear on
the pocket clip with a good strong loupe.
The Parker arrow pocket clip and deco
engraved cap band are both rolled gold.
The burgundy cap top jewel is glossy and undamaged.
The barrel unscrews to reveal the Aerometric
filling system. The brushed steel protector is in good condition
with just a few small spots of tarnish to the finish. The
original pli-glass ink sac has the usual internal ink staining that
seems to be unavoidable in these pens, bnut is still in good useable
condition. These sacs seem to go on forever.
The Parker No. 10 14 carat gold nib is lovely and shiny with
no damage. It is in a broad point, and bears the date code for
1954.
I have fully serviced this pen. It fills very easily as
with all Aerometrics. The nib is very smooth in use and lays down a
good wet and broad width line with a good consistent ink
flow. The nib also has a little softness to it and will provide
for a tiny bit of line width variation as you write.
A very good writer and in excellent condition to boot.
