SH1280: Sheaffer Pen For Men III.
Date: c1960s
Size: Capped - 5 3/8 inches; posted
- 5 5/4 inches.
I
don't get to see many of these sought-after pens.
It is in excellent condition with no damage that I was able to find. The PFMs look like chunky Imperials.
This one
is a glossy jet black model with all gold filled trim. The
top of the cap has the squared-off cross-section that slowly gives way
to a circular cross-section as you approach the cap lip. The
cap has a typical long and squared off spring loaded pocket clip with
the Sheaffer's white dot at the top. The cap also has a wide
gold filled lip band that tapers inwards. The barrel end
blind cap unscrews smoothly to extend the filling tube and to enable
the withdrawal of the filling plunger. All the insides are
clean and undamaged and work as they should. The nib is a
superb example of the Sheaffer inlaid nib in 14 carat gold and in a medium point.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib writes
very smoothly. It lays down a good wet and
consistent medium width line.
A must-have pen for the serious Sheaffer enthusiast.
