A good large and chunky Conway 475 in glossy black smooth celluloid. This pen is in very good condition with no splits, cracks or chips. The only damage on this pen is really the plating wear to the pocket clip and on the little filling lever. Such wear on Conway Stewarts of this vintage is only too common. Other than that, the pen has a very good glossy appearance. The cap has a conical ended black hard rubber top button. The cap is bandless but does have a washer style gold plated Conway Stewart pocket clip. This has the "CS" cipher in a diamond cartouche at the top with another diamond at the very bottom. The barrel imprint is nice and deep and crisp. The short gold plated filling lever reprises the "CS" monogram inside a diamond shaped cartouche on the end tab. The nib is a lovely bright and shiny Conway Stewart No. 3N in 14 carat gold. It is in a medium point.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib writes very smoothly with a wet and medium width line. It is a fairly soft nib and will give you some very nice understated line width variation as you write.
