A good large and chunky Conway 475 in the very beautiful blue and black marbled celluloid. This pen is in very good condition with no splits, cracks or chips and not even any noticeable surface scratches. The cap has a conical ended black hard rubber top button that has a good deep and rich black colour with no noticeable colour fading. The cap is bandless but does have a washer style Conway Stewart nickel plated pocket clip. This has the "CS" cipher in a diamond cartouche at the top with another diamond at the very bottom. The barrel imprint is complete and easily read, but not quite as deep as some examples I have seen to the colour pattern. The short filling lever has reprises the "CS" monogram inside a diamond cartouche on the circular end tab. The nib is a lovely bright and shiny Conway Stewart No. 3 in 14 carat gold. It is in a fine point.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib writes very smoothly with a wet and fine width line. The nib has a little bit of softness to it giving it a pleasant springy action, but not really any noticeable line width variation unless you use a little extra pressure.
The No. 475 pen seems to be quite uncommon in any colour apart from black. I think this is only the second or third blue one I have had in the last 10 years.
