A large, robust looking pen with a very classy carbon fibre cap and barrel, and contrasting perfectly with the satin finished silver trim. The cap flares out at the apex. with a knurled rim at the very top. The only damage on this pen are two small chips at the very top of the cap where the knurling is. The chips are really minute, and I only noticed this after I had taken the close-up picture on the cap. I have set the price of this pen to suit its condition and bearing in mind the chips. It remains a very desirable pen, and now it is not too expensive to use as a daily writer. The metal top "jewel" has the Alfred Dunhill cypher in silver with a black lacquer background. It looks just stunning. The vintage style pocket clip has a top band going around the cap and this is secured to the clip stem by a very small double-headed screw. This allows the stem to pivot, and an internal spring arrangement gives it a good firm grip. The end of the barrel steps inward to allow the cap to post securely. There are two barrel bands that frame the carbon fibre. The metal gripping section has the same satin finish as the trim, with an unusual knurled band between it and the barrel threads. This Dunhill pen accepts the Parker/G2 style refills so you can use a whole manner of different refills from standard ballpoint refills to hybrid refills, to capless rollerball refills. The original box has a black velveteen interior with a lovely soft pad. Outside, it is a textured black paperboard. The original instruction booklet is held underneath the presentation box by two elastic straps. Around all is the white paperboard outer slip case.
A very stylish and extremely well-made pen.
