This is a nice early Lockdown Vacumatic Junior, date coded on the barrel to the 4th quarter of 1934. This is a very attractive burgundy and black marbled Permanite Vacumatic Junior with the double gold filled cap band. It is in excellent, glossy and as far as I can see, undamaged condition. The jewels on both ends of the pen are glossy black. The cap jewel holds on the Parker arrow pocket clip. Below this are the gold filled cap bands . This is a lockdown Vacumatic - when you unscrew the blind cap, only about 1mm of the filling plunger is visible. You press the end of the plunger gently and twist anti-clockwise to free it and allow it to spring out. The aluminium plunger is still in excellent condition, as is the rest of the Vacumatic mechanism. Holding the barrel up to the light, you can see it is semi-transparent with none of the usual internal ink staining, and just a tiny bit of mild ambering. The factory imprint is nice and clear shows no wear. The nib is a lovely 14 carat gold Parker Vacumatic. Like the rest of the pen, it was made in Canada, no doubt for the UK market.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib is very smooth. It writes beautifully with a lovely wet line with a good consistent ink flow and a nice broad width line. It will also provide some very nice and effortless line width variation as you write.
