The earlier Parker ballpoints seem to be very hard to get hold of. I have had a number of Parker 51 and 61 ballpoints on my site over the years, and also a few 1960s Duofold ballpoints, but this is the first time I have actually seen let alone had for sale, a Parker 17 ballpoint, and it is in beautiful and undamaged condition. The Parker 17 was near the bottom of the Duofold range in the 1960s. As far as I know, Parker never officially offered the ballpoint in any kind of set with w the fountain pen or pencil, so that may be a contributing factor to its scarcity. The cap is just like the Paker 17 cap with a self-coloured top button holding on the washer style Parker arrow pocket clip. This is Rolled Gold as is the single cap lip band. The point is also finished this way. You can unscrew the barrel to fit a new refill. It currently has a modern Parker refill in blue that works perfectly. Both barrel and cap are in the dark bottle green colour, which was one of the standard colours for the 1960s Duofold range. There is a very deep and crisp and clear imprint on the barrel. This is a retractable ballpoint - you press down on the cap to click the writing point in and out.
I have fully serviced this pen. It works perfectly.
