A high quality Chinese made pen. Kaigelu is Chinese for Kangaroo. This is the model 316 fountain pen. It bears a striking resemblance to a Centennial sized Parker Duofold. It is made from what feels like very good quality resin, with a weighted barrel and cap to give it a good sunstantial feel in the hand, without being too heavy. The cap has a large tapered black top button that holds on the washer-style gold plated pocket clip. On the top of the button, inset into the surface is the Kaigelu logo. Below the clip is a pair of raised gold plated bands. The end of the barrel is black to match the cap top. It is seperated from the main barrel by a narrow gold plated band. The cap unscrews, revealing a very nicely shaped blac ksection with gold plated bands fore and aft. The steel nib is two-tone and quite large, with the Kaigelu name and logo imprinted on it. It is a medium point. This is a cartridge/converter pen. You unscrew the barrel to fit either a standard international size cartridge or you can use the original ink converter that is already fitted. Please note that the ink converter is a screw-in type.
The nib on this pen is very smooth and writes with a good wet and consistent medium width line.
Kaigelu pens seem to be of a much higher quality than the usual Chinese imports.
