A vintage-inspired design for a modern rollerball pen. The Marlen Nature Quadrifoglio is a medium sized pen that reminds me a little of the Eversharp Doric pens in its general shape. The cap tapers top the crown and has a small silver disc inset into the top which bears the Marlen logo. All the trim on this pen is sterling silver including, I am led to believe, the front section just forward of the finger grip. The pocket clip is fitted with the very old fashioned but supremely useful roller terminal which makes sliding it into a pocket a breeze. At the cap lip is a wide silver band with a Grecian key type decoration, and Marlen engraved. In the barrel is an imprint "Nature Quadrifoglio". The cap unscrews and so does the barrel, to allow the fitting of the rollerball refill. This pen takes the standard long type refill - Schmidt 888/5888 will fit, as will many other brands. The while pen is in lovely condition - probably never used. The silver trim shows a little age related patination, but this is easily removed if you prefer it shinier. The original bright pink box has a darker dusky pink lining. The instruction booklet is inside, and outside is the original cardboard slipcase, again in bright pink.
