A beautiful Fyne Poynt pencil from the late 1940s. This pencil is made from pastel grey celluloid. This is an old-stock pencil - it is in excellent condition, with no damage at all that I can see. Unusually, for a pen of this period, all the trim is chrome- or nickel-plated, even if the pictures below suggest that the pocket clip and cap bands are gold, they are all chrome plated as is the point - I am afraid I had some lighting issues with this pen! There is a ball-ended pocket clip on the small cap with the Fyne Poynt logo at the shoulder. The cap unscrews to reveal the original and unused pink eraser, and there are several spare 1.1mm leads stored beneath. Mid-barrel are three bands, a central wider band flanked on either side by a narrower band. Both cap and barrel are very glossy. The barrel imprint is still crisp, clear and deep, and the cone, which is twisted to wind the leads in and out also has no brassing or other damage.
I have fully serviced this pencil and it works well and sits in the hand very nicely. It is rather unusual to find one of these with the silver coloured trim.
