The Charleston is a classic Waterman design, the style of which harks back to the 1940s and 1950s. Though mainly a resin pen, it has a good weight to it, and is obvious quality at first glance. This pen is in excellent and as far as I can tell, undamaged condition. The cap has a hexagonal Waterman end "jewel" from which depends the pierced gold plated pocket clip. The cap unscrews from the barrel, which has a beautiful triple band mid-way down. This consisted of a wide central band that bears the pen's imprint, flanked either side by a narrow band. The traditional open nib is imprinted with the Waterman logo and "Paris" and is made from 18carat gold. It is in a medium point. The barrel unscrews to allow the pen to be filled. You can use the fitted ink converter to fill from a bottle, or if you prefer you can use standard Waterman ink cartridges.
I have fully serviced this pen. It fills easily. The nib writes with a very smooth action with a good consistent medium width line.
