A very attractive full-sized Mentmore. This is a fairly early Auto-Flow pen with the ball-ended pocket clip and made from burgundy and black marbled celluloid. It is in very good condition, with the only damage I can see being a tiny bit of plating wear to the pocket clip ball, and to the edges of the narrow cap band, which has a small kink/wave to it at the side of the cap. Both cap and barrel have a lovely original gloss and no noticeable surface scratches. The cap has a large flat black hard rubber top button that holds on the gold filled pocket clip with the Mentmore "M" on the shoulder. The top button has faded in colour over the years as hard rubber usually does, to a dark brown. Near the cap lip is a single narrow gold plated band. This is a button filled pen- you unscrew the barrel end blind cap to reveal the original brass filling button. To the side of the barrel is a slightly faint, but complete imprint. The nib is a nice large 14 carat Mentmore in what looks to be a medium point size.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib is very smooth and lays down a great wet and consistent line with a medium width. I do not often get these older Mentmore pens and it is very unusual to find one in as nice a condition as this.
