WA313: Waterman Taperite Citation No. 877.
Date: c1950
Size: Capped - 5 3/8 inches; posted
- 6 1/4 inches.
An attractive glossy back Citation with the
huge 1 inch wide cap lip band. I can see no surface scratches
or other blemished on the cap or the barrel, but I have spotted some plating wear to the gold filled cap top button.
The cap has a gold filled conical ended top button holding on
the gold filled Waterman's pocket clip. The barrel is round
ended. The gold filled filling lever is of the usual
Waterman box-type construction with a spade shaped end tab.
The clutch ring is also gold filled and shows no plating wear, which is
unusual, as this part of the pen gets a lot of wear. The well
designed section is comfortable in the hand and easy to grip.
The nib is the original lovely semi-hooded Waterman in 14 carat gold
and in a medium point.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib is
very smooth and writes with an excellent medium width
line.
A really stylish and striking pen.
