Size: Capped - 5 1/16 inches; posted - 6 1/8 inches.
This beautiful Conway 15 is in excellent condition with no splits, cracks or chips and no noticeable surface scratches. The lovely green marble casein colouring with the black veining is glossy. All trim is chrome plated and undamaged. I'm pretty sure that the barrel and cap are made of casein - this is one of the more popular casein patterns - so no soaking this one, ok?. The cap has a conical black end button with a Conway pocket clip that has the CS monogram in a diamond at the top and another diamond at the very bottom. The cap has no bands; a feature of the early CS 15 pens. The barrel has a lovely crisp, though fairly shallow, imprint and a filling lever with the CS monogram on its circular end tab. The little Conway No. 1A nib is in 14 carat gold and undamaged.
I have fully restored this pen. The nib writes very well, laying down a smooth and wet line. This is a soft-ish nib. It has a very pleasant springy action, but will not provide for any noticeable line width variation with normal writing pressure.
Very nice condition. If you like a fine-writing pen you won;t go wrong with this one.
