A good large and chunky Conway 475 in the very unusual and uncommon bottle green smooth casein. This pen is in excellent condition with no splits, cracks or chips. It has some faint scratching to the cap near the lip, but that is about all I have to report on this pen. The cap has a conical ended black hard rubber top button that has a lovely deep rich black colour with no fading at all. The cap is bandless but does have a washer style Conway Stewart nickel plated pocket clip. This has the "CS" cipher in a diamond cartouche at the top with another diamond at the very bottom. The barrel imprint is complete and easy to make out. The short filling lever is also nickel plated and it reprises the "CS" monogram inside a diamond cartouche on the circular end tab. The nib is a lovely bright and shiny Conway Stewart No. 3 in 14 carat gold. It is in a medium point.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib writes very smoothly with a wet and medium width line. The tip has a stubby appearance. I will provide for some very attractive if understated line width variation as you write.
I have never before seen a '475 in this very striking colour. Quite an unusual find.
