This very attractive and glossy pale grey-blue and black marbled Conway is in very good condition. This is the later type of the 479 pen with the nickel plated trim and diamond ended pocket clip. The cap has a black hard rubber top button - this has faded a bit over the years to a dark brown colour. The washer-style pocket clip is chrome plated and has the "CS" cypher at the top within a diamond shaped cartouche, and a diamond at the bottom. There is no cap band on this pen. The barrel has a short chrome plated filling lever with a circular end tab that also has "CS imprinted, again within a diamond. The barrel imprint is quite faint but I did manage to get a decent photograph which shows it to be intact, and readable. The section is in black hard rubber and this has a very good deep rich black colour. as it has been protected from the light The nib is a 14 carat Conway Stewart in a medium point. The only real damage on this pen is a very slight colour mismatch in the blue marbled casein between the barrel and the cap. This is very common with these pens as the colour has altered at a different rate. This is only very slight, and hardly noticeable in most lighting conditions.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib is very smooth in action and writes with an excellent wet and medium width line. It is a soft nib and will give a little understated line width variation as you write.
