A good large and chunky Conway 475 in glossy black smooth celluloid. This pen is in very good condition with no splits, cracks or chips. The only damage on this pen is really the plating wear to the pocket clip. Such wear on Conway Stewarts of this vintage is only too common. Other than that, the pen has a very good glossy appearance. The cap has a conical ended black hard rubber top button. The cap is bandless but does have a washer style nickel plated Conway Stewart pocket clip. This has the "CS" cipher in a diamond cartouche at the top with another diamond at the very bottom. The barrel imprint is complete and beautifully crisp and deep, showing no wear. The short filling lever reprises the "CS" monogram inside a diamond shaped cartouche on the end tab. The nib is a lovely bright and shiny Conway Stewart 14 carat gold. It is in a medium point.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib is very smooth and has a little softness to it. The nib also has a very pleasant soft action, so it will produce some very attractive if understated line width variation as you write.
