A beautiful and almost pristine Conway Stewart Wellington pen in the very sought-after Marble Ice Special Edition, and edition of only 50 pens worldwide in this colour. I remember when this pen came out, I immediately ordered 3 of them, and such was the demand for it I only got one. Amazingly, when I looked back at my records I found that it was this very pen, No.26/50, so happily, it has come home after 11 years for a short visit! This pen has a large black top button holding on the wash style gold plated pocket clip. This has the Conway Stewart logo at the shoulder and a diamond shaped terminal. Below the clip are two solid 18ct gold bands - the wider lower band bears a full hallmark. On the barrel is a very crisp imprint, though it is hard to make out due to the colouring of the pen. The large 18ct gold nib is in a fine point. This is a cartridge-converter fill pen. It will accept either standard International ink cartridges, or if you prefer you can use the original ink converter already fitted to the pen. The very large and elaborate presentation box consists of an outer board box finished in glassy black; a box inside this one covered in faux leather and with a creamy flocked lining and a smaller diamond shaped inner box. The small inner box, with the lid reversed, can also act as a pen rest on your desk. All is in excellent condition.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib is very smooth in use and produces an excellent wet and consistent fine width line. It has a nice springy action, with a little bit of softness.
