This beautiful lustrous burgundy '65 look like it has hardly been used. It is in excellent condition with no damage on it apart from the extremely small and light clip mark to the cap frosting. You nearly always get these little shiny marks below the pocket clip terminal, even on pens that have spent their entire lives in their box. The '65 was a variation on the '61 with an open cropped nib replacing the tubular hooded nib of the '61. Both cap and barrel have a lovely clear grey "jewel" held in with chrome plated tassies. The cap is made from Lustraloy and is delicately and beautifully frosted, making this the "Classic" model. The chrome plated pocket clip has a long arrow "flight", again in the Parker 61 style. The barrel unscrews to allow the fitting of a standard Parker ink cartridge or you can use a standard Parker ink converter (not supplied). The nib is shiny and undamaged with lots of iridium and in 14 carat gold. It is in a medium point. The pen is presented in its original hardshell gift box with the black and white polka-dot pattern. It has a few grubby marks to the outside of the lid nut is much cleaner inside with its delicate pink lid lining and pad. Also in the box is the original instruction sheet.
I have fully serviced this pen. I did just dip the tip of the nib to get the writing sample below. The nib is very smooth and lays down a wet, medium width line.
A lovely pen. Basically, its almost brand new, though about 40 to 50 years old!
