A beautiful and unusual cordovan Brown Parker 51 Custom pencil from the mid-1940s. This pencil would have originally been paired with a 51 Vacumatic pen. It is in very good condition with the only damage that I can spot in it being a couple of tiny shallow dings to the side of the cap. These proved much too small to photograph successfully. The cap has a very nice clear grey top jewel and the "split arrow" gold filled pocket clip as fitted to the Vacumatic 51 pens. At the cap lip is a narrow polished band, and imprinted on this band is "1/10 14K GOLD FILLED" and "MADE IN USA". The whole cap is finished in 1/10 14ct gold fill with groups of nine vertical incised lines going all around the circumference. At the point it is also gold filled. You can pull off the cap, and below is a barely used pink eraser with a spare 0.9mm lead below. This is a propel-repel pencil that works by twisting the cap.
I have fully serviced this pencil. I have fitted a new 0.9mm lead into the mechanism, and it is ready to go. It works perfectly
A really lovely example of the 51 Custom pencil in the unusual and uncommon Cordovan Brown colour.
