Truly, the King of Pens. This beautiful oversized Sailor pen is in "barely used" condition - still perfect as far as I can see, and is covered in beautiful glossy hand-applied jet black Urushi lacquer. A very imposing top of the range pen, presented here in its original box with all paperwork, and even the original unopened bottle of Sailor ink. It is a traditionally understated Japanese design with a gold plated pocket clip being the only adornment to the outside. Unscrewing the cap reveals the glorious and huge 21 karat gold nib in a medium point (which writies with a similar width to a fine European nib). The pen is fitted with its original ink converter that looks to me like it has never had ink in it. The lovely dark wooden box has "KING OF PEN" embossed on the lid in gold. The cream coloured outer slipcase is also still around it. Inside the box, the pad is made from coffee coloured satin with a bottle of black Sailor Kiwa-Guro ink. The original and unopened cleaning cloth and two information sheets are also inside. I very rarely get second-hand Sailors and this one is a real beauty!
I have just dipped the nib to get the writing sample below. It is a very smooth writing nib and produces an excellent wet and fine-to-medium width line. It is a soft and juicy nib and will give you a tiny bit of line width variation as you write.
