A very pretty jet black Saratoga Snorkel This pen is in excellent condition. I can find no damage at all - not even any noticeable surface scratching and both cap and barrel have a lovely original gloss. The gold filled trim is completely undamaged and free of brassing, and the peach of a nib looks like it is new. The Sheaffer's inscribed pocket clip is nice and tight and the cap lip band nice and shiny. The blind cap sat the end of the barrel unscrews to extend the filling tube and allow the plunger to be withdrawn. The internal mechanism is also in excellent condition, and working perfectly. The glossy black finger grip is ribbed as with all these TM Snorkels. The lovely large open 14 carat two-tone gold nib is in a medium point and a complete delight. This is an unusual model - the Saratoga seems to be hard to find in the UK for some reason, made in Canada, which is unusual in itself as the vast majority of Snorkel pens to be found in the UK are made either in the U. S. or in Australia.
I have fully serviced this pen. I did just dip the nib to get the writing sample below. The nib is very smooth and writes with a lovely wet and consistent medium width line. Like most Snorkel nibs it is a firm writer.
