An impressive and glossy Swan Leverless pen with a large and superb Swan Eternal No. 4 nib. This pen is made from green marbled celluloid. It is in good condition, with plating wear to the upper surface of the ball-shaped pocket clip terminal, the pocket clip shoulder and to the cap bands. This pen would be a good buy for use as a daily writer to make the most out of that super Eternal nib. The Eternal nibs were made to last a lifetime and were made from thicker gold, so are firmer than many other Swan nibs of the time. This is one of those pre-war flat-topped Swans. The cap has a black hard rubber top button with an inset gold disc at the top which as a swan in relief. The pocket clip is held on by the top button. It has the Swan logo imprinted at the shoulder, a ridged stem and a ball at the bottom. There are three narrow gold filled cap bands. The barrel has a good sharp imprint and a black hard rubber knurled blind cap that is twisted to fill the pen. The nib is a nice large Swan Eternal No. 4 made from 14 carat gold and in a medium point.
I have fully serviced this pen. It writes with a very smooth action. It lays down an excellent wet line. The Eternal nib is a large No. 4 size, and whilst it looks the business it also writes very well indeed.
Not a display pen, but a good solid writer.
