A very pretty 1930s Swan Minor in excellent condition. I can see a single small spot of discolouration on the side of the pocket clip, and that is about it! The barrel and cap are made from glossy jet black celluloid and are chased with a very simple but effective straight-line pattern. The cap has a flattened top with the Swan logon imprinted in the top and picked out in white. The pocket clip has "SWAN" at the top inside a cartouche and is nickel plated with a ball at the bottom. The barrel has two imprints - the one on the flat barrel end is the model number of the pen, and the main imprint is on the side of the barrel. The former is quite shallow and indistinct, whereas the barrel imprint is lovely and crisp and deep. The filling lever is of the black hard rubber "invisible" type. Like the section, it still has a deep rich black colour with no apparent fading. The nib is a super Swan No. 1 in 14 carat gold. It is undamaged and in a fine point.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib is very smooth and produces a lovely wet line. It is a soft nib and will produce some very attractive line width variation as you write.
A classic pre-war Swan.
