A beautiful jet black lacquered Carene. This pen is used, but in excellent condition. There is no damage to this pen at all - the lacquering is beautifully glossy and scratch-free and the gold plated trim bright and shiny. This is a very substantial pen with a good heft. The cap tapers to quite a point, and has a pierced and spring-loaded gold plated Waterman pocket clip, and a cap lip band. The barrel has a gold plated end piece with a flat black disc inset into the slanted bottom. The barrel unscrews to allow the pen to be filled. You can use a standard Waterman ink converter to fill from a bottle, or if you prefer you can use standard Waterman ink cartridges. The section is black and the unique shaped inlaid nib is made from 18 carat gold. It is in a medium point. The original box is also in lovely condition. Covered in blue leatherette, with cream coloured satin interior. Below the pad is the original instruction booklet, the original box of Waterman ink cartridges, with 3 left inside, and no less than two ink converters, neither of which appear to have been used.
I have fully serviced this pen. It fills easily. The nib writes with a very smooth action with a good consistent medium width line.
