This full-sized Conway Stewart pencil is in generally very good condition. The only damage I can see on it is a little plating wear to the pocket clip. However, in common with many of these celluloid pencils. the cap part has shrunk very slightly over the years and gripped to inner mechanism spindle so tightly that it will now not come off. Usually, these caps just pull off and beneath is an eraser and a space for carrying spare leads. The fact the cap is "always on" does not affect the working of the pencil in any way. Te cap and barrel are both glossy with no noticeable scratches. There is a beautifully crisp and clear imprint on the side of the cap, two gold filled bands - one at the cap lip and the other on the barrel below. This is a propel-repel pencil and works by twisting the cap. The colourway on this pencil is the rather hard to find grey hatch or grey lined pattern.
I have fully serviced this pencil. It has been fitted with a fresh lead.
An unusual Conway pencil in a hard to find colour.
