This is a top quality and top of the range pen from the Swiss manufacturer Caran d'Ache. It is a current model Varius pen, and it appears to be unused with no damage at all that I can see. It is in its original box, but has lost its outer slipcase at some point, though the box itself is still in lovely condition. This pen has a hexagonal cross-section. The cap and cone are rhodium plated, whereas the barrel is made from carbon fibre. The contrast between the highly polished rhodium and the deep lustrous carbon fibre is truly striking. At the top of the pen is the button that you can use to extend and retract the writing point. This has the manufacturer's name engraved around the sides and the logo etched into the slightly domed top. The sinuous pocket clip has a pronounced central ridge and folds over on itself to give a good springy action. It has a teardrop shaped terminal. The cap unscrews to reveal enable the pen to be refilled. It will accept standard Parker style G2 refills. The original wooden box is in excellent condition. Below the pad is the guarantee and instruction book.
