A nickel plated brass pencil from around the turn of the 19th/20th centuries. It is in very good condition with just a little high-point plating wear that you will only notice through a loupe. It has a deeply fluted barrel and an ornate point. You twist the point to extend the lead, which would originally have been a VS lead (1.5mm) - these are not available generally any more, but luckily a modern 1.4mm lead will also fit. At the other end of the pencil is a watch chain/chatelaine ring.
This pencil works perfectly.
A very interesting survivor, and in nice condition too.
