A remarkably attractive skeleton style pen from Stipula. This is a beautiful Demonstrator pen that was available in two versions. This is the all Sterling silver overlay version. As you can see the overlay is in the form of a thin spiral that winds up the cap and the barrel. Each version of the pen was limited and numbered to 8 worldwide. This one has "02/08 stamped on the forward part of the barrel. A demonstrator with style. The pen has a great weight (not too heavy, not too light) and feels good in the hand both posted and not. An amazing pen to use or to collect. The pen fills with the Stipula in-house power filler and uses a 14kt gold nib. The nib fitted here is Stipula's brilliant 1.1mm stub. The cap has a slightly domed top with a little silver leaf set into the surface. The pocket clip is antique matte silver plated and has a fitting sinuous design. The end of the barrel pulls out to operate the piston filler, which gives this pen a prodigious ink capacity. The lovely 14ct gold rhodium plated Stipula nib looks perfect. This pen has been used and as with any demonstrator, there are some ink stains, though these are mainly confined to inside the cap where some ink has got behind the inner cap from where it is very difficult to get out. Otherwise, the pen is undamaged.
The nib is very smooth to write with and gives some excellent and effortless line width variation as you write.
