This is a beautiful oversized black lacquered and top quality Waterman fountain pen. It is in beautiful condition with no damage on it that I can find. It is presented here in its original box with instruction/guarantee booklet, the original and unused box of Waterman cartridges and the original and unused ink converter all housed below the pad. I really can't see any damage on this lovely pen, and it looks like it has hardly been used. The cap has a tapered black top button with the Waterman logo inset into the flat end. The pocket clip is anchored onto the top button and is the classic Waterman pierced design that was introduced in the 1950s with the C/F range of pens. At the base of the cap is a very nice and understated gold plated raised girdle with the imprint "WATERMAN" and "Made in France". Above this is a narrower gold plated band. The barrel end is shaped so that the cap will post securely, with two gold plated raised girdles forward of the posting point. The cap pulls off to reveal the lovely two-tone 18-carat solid gold Waterman Ideal nob, which is in a medium point. The original box is also in very nice condition, with just a single pencil mark on the orange satin pad. The box is covered in a very dark blue leatherette with gold tooling. Inside the lid is written "WATERMAN" with the Ideal logo, and "PARIS" below all in gold. Unusually, the outer slipcase is still present, and this does have a bit of edge wear.
I have fully serviced this pen, I did just dip the nib to get the writing sample below. It is very smooth and produces a good wet and consistent medium width line.
A lovely pen; one of the more sought-after modern Waterman models, and in really lovely condition.
