An attractive full-sized Mentmore. This one has the ball-ended pocket clip, lever fill mechanism, and is made from a lovely silver grey and black. It is in good condition, having extensive plating wear to the pocket clip, and some foxing on the filling lever. Both cap and barrel have a lovely original gloss and no noticeable surface scratches. The cap has a large flat black hard rubber top button that holds on the gold filled pocket clip with the Mentmore "M" on the shoulder. It is still a great deep, black colour with no noticeable fading. Near the cap lip is a single narrow gold plated band. The filling lever has the Mentmore "M" on the end tab and is also gold-filled. To the side of the barrel is a nice, crisp but quite shallow imprint. The nib is a large 14 carat Mentmore in what looks to be a fine point size.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib is very smooth and lays down a great wet and consistent line with a fine width.
I do not often get these older Mentmore pens and it is very unusual to find one in this particularly striking colour.
