RE013 Reform Pocket Pencil
RE013 Reform Pocket Pencil
Date: c1930s?
Size: Capped - 89mm, posted - 127mm.
A rather unusual brown casein Reform pencil from Germany. The Reform company was very big in its day, having sales that eclipsed Lamy and Kaweco. This pencil is a pocket type with a separate cap and an afrermarked accommodation clip. The cap has a white knurled flat top button. It is a very plain cap with no built-in pocket clip or cap band. A previous owner has fitted a slip-on clip, and I have kept this with the pen as it is rather useful. The cap pulls off and posts securely on the end of the barrel, transforming a very short pen into one of a reasonable length for continued use. The point is black, and this is the part you twist in order to extend the lead. This pencil would have originally used VS, or 1.5mm leads, but luckily, the 1.4mm Faber-Castell leads fit and work perfectly.
I have fully serviced this pencil. I have installed a fresh 1.4mm lead and it works perfectly.
A very unusual little pencil!
