Size: Capped - 137mm, posted - 154mm.

This later Conway set has glossy burgundy barrels and section and steel caps that have been painted or coated to give them a lovely champagne colour.  It looks to me that neither piece has hardly been used - possibly never - and there is absolutely no damage that I can see.  The caps are conical-ended and the gold plated pocket clips are spring-loaded with no brassing or other damage. 

Fountain Pen

The barrel imprint is lovely and deep and sharp.  The barrel unscrews to reveal the shiny and as new "pressac" filler.  Even the ink sac is original and still nicely supple and usable.  The nib is a 14 carat gold Conway No. 3L in what looks like a fine point.  It is, of course, completely undamaged. 

Pencil

The barrel of the pencil has a lovely, deep and crisp imprint.  The cap will pull off - it is a little but stiff, but should loosen up a bit with use.  The original and apparently unused pink eraser is age-hardened.  This is a propel-repel pencil that works by twisting the cap.  I have fitted a fresh 1.18mm lead into the mechanism, so it is all ready to go. 

Box

The original hard shell case is in exceptional condition - very clean inside and out - and it still has the original instruction sheet and white paperboard outer slipcase.  

I have fully serviced this set.  The pen's nib feels nice and smooth and it writes with a good consistent fine width line.  It is a soft-ish nib and can even produce a tiny bit of line width variation as you write.
