This Sheaffer Imperial is in excellent condition with no damage noted to either barrel or cap.  The pen is in a very attractive glossy dark blue colour with a brushed textured chrome plated cap and polished chrome plated pocket clip.  The flat-topped square-section cap has a short, straight clip bearing the Sheaffer white dot.  There is a narrow polished band at the lip with the imprint just above.  The barrel is similarly flat-ended.  The section is blue to match the barrel.  The pen is fitted with Sheaffer's superb inlaid nib in a medium point.  Unscrewing the barrel allows the fitting of either a standard Sheaffer ink cartridge or you can use the original squeeze-bar ink converter already fitted to the pen if you wish to use bottled ink.  The original box is also in excellent shape.  It has a dark blue leatherette covering with a dark blue flocked lining.  

I have fully serviced this pen.  It writes very smoothly with a very nice, wet, medium width line.
