This is a rather nice old stock Lamy Al-Star in the Ocean Blue colour, which started out as a Special Edition pen, then was brought into the standard colour range at a later date and is now discontinued again.  There is no damage at all on this pen, and besides me dipping the nib to get the writing sample, it has never been used.  This pen is made from anodised aluminium.  It has a good, large size, but is not a heavy pen.  The cap has a very robust thick wire pocket clip.  It pulls off.  On the rear of the cap is the white product label still attached.  The gripping section is well shaped to afford a very secure grip.  Between the barrel and the gripping section is the brown card ring that preventrs the ink cartridge from being pierced.  The barrel has a little slot in it so you can see if you still have ink in the cartridge (or converter) you are using.  This pen will use a standard Lamy ink cartridge (the original is still in the barrel), or a Lamy Z25 ink converter (not included).  The steel nib is in a medium point.
