I have never come across Ellington pens before.  This looks like a very attractive and well-made modern pen.  It has no damage on it at all and is in nearly pristine condition.  I am even unsure as to whether it has ever actually been used.  It is in a striking semi-translucent red lacquer with all jet black trim and a black steel nib.  The cap has a 10-sided top button with a conical-shaped "jewel" atop it.  There is a black pocket clip and a black cap lip band that bears the "Ellington" imprint.  The barrel has a larger black end piece and the finger grip is also black.  The cap is friction fit, and the barrel unscrews to reveal the original standard International-sized ink converter.  You can also use a standard International ink cartridge if you prefer.  The lovely little nib is imprinted with the Ellington "E" and "F", which denotes the writing width.  This pen is supplied with its original branded velveteen pen pouch and outer card slipcase.  Inside the case is the authenticity card.  

I have fully serviced this pen.  It writes very well, producing a very nice, wet and consistent medium width line.
