A classic Parker Duofold with the "streamlined" cap top shape of the early 1930s.  The Special Doufold is mid-way in size between the Junior Duofold and the Senior Duofold.  It is the same girth as the former, and a little shorter than the latter.  This one is made from glossy black Permanite and gold filled trim.  It is in very good condition.  There is some wear to the forward part of the barrel caused by the cap, but this is somewhat unavoidable if the pen is in use.  The cap has a "streamlined" black top button that holds on the washer-style Parker pocket clip.  This has the PARKER imprint down the stem and a ball at the end.  Below the pocket clip are two gold filled cap bands.  At the end is a blind cap that unscrews to reveal the original brass filling button.  The button fill mechanism is all present and correct and works perfectly.  The pen is fitted with its original and "correct" Christmas-tree feed, and the original and very large Parker Duofold nib too.  This is made from 14ct gold nib with an outrageously wide italic point.   It is easily a triple-broad with the tip a shade over 2mm in width.

I have fully serviced this pen.  It fills well and writes very smoothly, as most of the early Duofolds do.  As well as being an italic nib, this one is also flexible.  It will easily write 3mm wide lines and will probably go a little more if you try.  

A lovely writer and a real classic pen.  Would make a beautiful and distinctive signature pen.
