PA3836 Parker 45, boxed (Medium)
Date: c1997
Size: Capped - 137mm; posted - 148mm.
The 45 was Parker's first cartridge pen in 1960. The 45 series are robust pens and good writers, laying down nice wet lines. This pen is an example of the penultimate iteration of the 45 model. It was made in 1997 as evidenced by the date code on the back of the cap lip. It is in excellent condition and looks barely used to me, with no damage at all. This pen is glossy black with a brushed steel cap. It has a gold plated indented top button with a gold plated Parker arrow pocket clip. The body of the cap is made from a very delicately frosted Lustraloy. There are no noticeable scratches on the frosting, and no dings either. Around the base of the cap is the imprint which includes a date code for 1997. The barrel unscrews to allow the fitting of a standard Parker ink cartridge, or, if you prefer, you can use the original and as far as I can tell, unused ink converter. The nib is gold plated and has a medium width point. The original plastic box has a clear lid with a flocked grey pad. Below the pad is the original and unused ink cartridge.
I have fully serviced this pen. It writes very well, producing a very smooth, wet and medium width line.
