A lovely glossy India black Parker 51.  The pen is in excellent condition.  The only damage I can see on this pen is the usual micro-scratches to the cap, and a tiny bit of plating loss to the very tip of the pocket clip terminal.  The Lustraloy cap still has some very nice delicate frosting.  It has a clear and undamaged grey jewel at the top and a chrome plated Parker arrow pocket clip.  This is a rather unusual English Parker 51 Vacumatic - the imprint around the forward end of the barrel is still very clear and crisp.  These were made at the end of the Vacumatic era around 1947 or 1948. The lip of the cap has a polished band, with the imprint "PARKER" just above it.  The barrel and hood are, as far as I can see, scratch-free.  The blind cap unscrews for access to the Vacumatic filler plunger, which is in black coloured plastic.  The nib is undamaged and in 14 carat gold.  It looks like a medium point.  This pen is presented here in its original Parker stock box.  The base of the box has a couple of split corners, but in all it has fared very well over the years.  

I have fully serviced this pen.  It writes very smoothly like a Parker 51 should.  The nib is firm and produces a wet, consistent line.  It writes with a medium width.  The Vacumatic filler works well and gives the pen a very good ink capacity.
