A beautiful, glossy, and rather unusual India Black coloured Parker 51.  This is an example of the Mk.II Aerometric 51 with the Parker 61-like cap and squared-off barrel end.  They were manufactured in the first couple of years of the 1970s, just before the Parker 51 was finally phased out.  I have looked over this pen very carefully and it is in near pristine condition - it has been used; the ink sac has the usual internal ink staining, but I can see nothing at all wrong with it.   There are no splits, cracks, chips and no noticeable scratches anywhere.  The cap top has a chrome-plated top jewel and chrome-plated Parker arrow pocket clip.  The Lustraloy cap has the lovely and delicate frosting you would expect to see on a Parker 51, with none of the usual rubbing or scratching to the surface.  Around the cap lip is the imprint "PARKER" and "MADE IN ENGLAND" with the Parker arrow and halo mark above.   The barrel and hood are still glossy with no noticeable scratches or any other damage.  The lovely 14 carat gold hooded nib is in a medium point.  Unscrewing the barrel, the Aerometric filler is made from polished stainless steel and unmarked by damage.  The original pliglass ink sac is still fitted and is still in perfectly serviceable condition - these last forever!

I have fully serviced this pen. Like most '51s the nib is very smooth.
