This is a pre-owned Pilot Capless fountain pen.  It is in beautiful condition still, and judging by its looks, it has probably only been used a few times.  The Capless is very unusual in that it is a retractable fountain pen.  You depress the button at the top of the pen, and a little trapdoor opens at the pointy end, and the nib emerges.  Press again and the nib slides back and the little trapdoor closes again to form a seal so that the pen does not dry up.  This pen is a blue carbon fibre effect finish.  All the trim is rhodium-plated.  The nib is made from 14 carat gold.  The burgundy lacquered surface of the pen is still mirror-smooth with no scratches or other imperfections that I was able to find, and the press-button at the back end of the barrel has none of the usual hazing that you will always get with these pens after they have been used a few times.  It still has the original sales label around the pocket clip stem.  It is fitted with its original ink converter, and it works perfectly.   The original box is also in excellent and undamaged condition.  Below the pad is still the original instruction sheet and metal cartridge protector/  

I did just dip the nib to get the writing sample below.  The nib feels very smooth and produces an excellent wet and medium-width line.
