This Slimfold set in glossy deep blue and is in beautiful condition.  Neither piece looks like they have been used more than a few times in its life.  Both pen and pencil have unmarked rolled gold trim.  Barrels and caps are in lustrous and scratch-free blue resin.  There are no cracks, splits or chips in either pen or pencil.  This is the early model Slimfold with the rolled gold cap bands decorated with the "deco" pattern.    

Fountain Pen

The arrow clip and cap lip band are both free from brassing.  The plastic of both barrel and cap are scratch-free.  The imprint on the barrel is unusually clear and deep.  The nib is a lovely shiny and perfect 14 carat yellow gold Parker No. 5 in rather unusual stub point.  Opening the pen up, the aerometric filler is shiny and undamaged.  The original pliglass ink sac is still perfectly serviceable and shows only minor internal ink staining, retaining a good amount of its original transparency. 

Pencil

The rolled gold trim, consisting of arrow clip, "deco" engraved cap band and the cone is all unmarked and perfect.  The cap and barrel have no scratching and exhibit a lovely "as new" lustre.   The propel-repel mechanism works faultlessly by twisting the cap.  Taking the cap off, the original pink eraser has broken off, but the little metal cup is still there.   Beneath, there are a few spare 0.9mm leads.  This the more uncommon and earlier Duofold pencil, it is slightly larger than the No. 3 pencil that replaced it.

Box

The original "fur" textured No. L.3.T grey paperboard box.  It does have the usual edge and corner wear but is still in good nick apart from that.  Inside, the pad is made from cream-colours satin - it has a few minor stains and age spots.  

I have fully serviced this set.  During testing, the pen wrote beautifully.  The nib is very smooth and writes with a wet and consistent line.  It is a stub nib so it will provide for some very attractive line width variation from a fine to a good solid broad.
