This 1950s India black coloured Parker 51 is in excellent condition with the very hard to find rolled silver cap.  As is almost universal with these caps, they are very rare but invariably, they have plating wear, and this is no exception, but inisually, it has just a few pinprick sized points of foxing and generally has a lovely bright and shiny appearance.  This probably the best example of this rather rare pen that I have seen over the last 25 years.  There are no splits, cracks, chips and no noticeable scratches to either hood or barrel.  The cap body has the "converging lines" pattern of decoration that is shared with the rolled gold caps.  Near the cap lip it is imprinted "PARKER" with "R. SILVER" at the rear.  The grey cap top jewel is clear with no chips or cracks and the short-arrow rolled gold pocket clip is pretty much perfect.  The lovely 14 carat gold hooded nib is in a medium point.  Unscrewing the barrel, the Aerometric filler is made from stainless steel with a brushed finish and unmarked by damage.  The original pliglass ink sac is still fitted and rather unusually it has hardly any internal ink staining, suggesting to me that it has seen very limited use over the years. 

I have fully serviced this pen. The medium point nib feels very smooth on paper, and writes with a very pleasing wet and consistent line. 

This is the best condition rolled gold parker 51 I have ever had for sale.
