An excellent example of the seldom encountered Mk. I Parker 51 with the original wide clutch ring but with the metal sac guard end instead of the black plastic end.  This "transitional" design element was the first to be changed - followed by the narrow clutch ring, the Parker 61-like cap, and finally, the flat barrel end.  This pen is in lovely glossy burgundy coloured lucite, and judging from its external and internal condition it has been used very carefully and sparingly.  I have gone over this pen very carefully as I do all my pens and the only thing I can see on it is a scratch on the barrel.  The cap has the lovely even and delicate frosting.  The pocket clip is chrome plated and the small grey top jewel is clear and bright.  Inside, the steel Aerometric filler is absolutely perfect with the original pliglass ink sac that has hardly any of the internal ink staining.  The nib is a 14 carat gold Parker in a fine point.

I have fully serviced this pen.  The nib writes very well, with a good smooth action as you would expect from a Parker 51.  

A beautiful and unusual late-ish Parker 51.
